OCPC 2020 Kicks Off Virtually

Today, the 5th annual Oncology Clinical Pathways Congress (OCPC) kicked off in its new virtual format, which is taking place October 16-18. The official meeting of the Journal of Clinical Pathways (JCP), OCPC remains committed to being the only dedicated gathering for oncology pathways education.

This year’s agenda features sessions on leveraging clinical pathways to assist in prior authorizations and in alternative payment models; the role of big data and data science in evidence-based care; and meaningful integration of the patient voice in pathways.

This morning, attendees were able to hear results from the JCP Oncology Clinical Pathways Benchmarking Survey, presented by editor-in-chief Winston Wong, PharmD. This survey has been conducted annually for the past 3 years and gathers responses from real-world pathways stakeholders to reveal the current landscape of clinical pathways use in oncology practice.

We also heard insights related to “Clinical Pathways, Cancer Care and COVID-19” from Ray Page, DO, PhD, FACOI, FASCO, and Barry Russo, from The Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders (Fort Worth, TX). Oncology care providers are quickly implementing practice-wide changes in response to the pandemic. Dr Page and Mr Russo explored a variety of institutional protocols and processes that have been implemented and discussed what frameworks should be used to inform decisions about how to modify cancer treatment based on patient and cancer-specific factors.

Stay tuned for detailed coverage of OCPC sessions.

You can still register now to tune in live and participate in live Q&A and discussion.
