Panel: Understanding the Use of Predictive Modeling to Track the Pandemic Spread and Associated Diagnostics

php logoScott Collins, president, Aria Marketing, leads a discussion with Ron Chiarello, PhD, founder and CEO, Alveo Technologies, and Emad Rizk, MD, president and CEO, Cotiviti, about the current state of health care and how health care systems are utilizing predictive modeling in order to track how the pandemic is evolving as well as engage with diagnostic testing.

About the speakers:

Ron Chiarello, PhDFounder, Chief Executive Officer, and Chairman of the Board of Alveo Technologies, has led a distinguished career building on more than 25 years of expertise in designing, developing and manufacturing cutting-edge micro-fluidic, micro-electronics and semiconductor technologies. An entrepreneur at heart, Dr. Chiarello has successfully founded, led, and sold multiple startups specializing in applying these technologies to a range of sensing and diagnostic challenges. Alveo Technologies was born out of Dr. Chiarello’s vision to transform the way the medical field diagnoses, tracks, and treats infectious disease. The company’s novel diagnostic platform, be.well, has been in development since 2015. With this technology, real-time, low-cost disease detection will become broadly accessible, and could revolutionize the way we respond to, and recover from, the threat of infectious diseases like flu, RSV, COVI-19, and new threats yet to be discovered.

Emad Rizk, MD, is the Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of Cotiviti. He brings a 30-year, well-documented track record of delivering improved quality and financial performance to healthcare organizations through forward-thinking leadership, business acumen, and clinical expertise. With his extensive experience working with payers, hospital systems, government, physicians, and pharmaceutical companies, Dr. Rizk has brought focus and rigor to Cotiviti’s healthcare analytics and technology offerings, while positioning the organization for significant growth. Notably, under Dr. Rizk’s leadership, when he was CEO of Verscend Technologies, he completed the $4.9 billion acquisition of Cotiviti Holdings, the largest payer analytics acquisition of 2018.

Scott Collins, President of Aria Marketing, a healthcare IT PR agency, began his career at one of the world’s leading high-tech PR firms working with global technology leaders, market-disrupting start-ups and everything in between. In addition to his decade of increasingly senior agency roles, Scott also devoted several years working on the corporate side as PR manager for a leading networking technology firm and as VP of marketing at two early-stage high-tech companies. Scott joined the Aria team in 2003 to help lead a then fledgling PR practice, and realized he had found his home in healthcare. Over the years Scott helped transform the agency into the healthcare thought leadership PR and marketing leader it is today, and in early 2014 he acquired Aria and took over the reins of the agency.
