Featured Speaker: Former White House Health Care Advisor Chris Jennings

September 2016

On Tuesday October 4, 2016, Chris Jennings, president of Jennings Policy Strategies, and Mike Leavitt, former Utah Governor and HHS secretary, will discuss the future of health care under the next President of the United States during the AMCP Nexus 2016 general session. Susan Dentzer, president and chief executive officer of the Network for Excellence in Health Innovation, will moderate the general session.

Chris Jennings is a health policy expert with over 30 years of experience. He has been an advisor on health care issues to the White House, congress, and within the private sector. Mr Jennings has served under President Clinton and, most recently, under President Obama as the White House’s coordinator of health reform during the implementation of the Affordable Care Act.

Mr Jennings is also known for his work with President Clinton and former Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton, on the Children’s Health Insurance Program.  He has worked on five presidential campaigns, including Hillary Clinton’s 2008 bid for the presidency. With such a close understanding of the politics that go into health care policy, Mr Jennings is a fitting keynote speaker for the meeting’s general session on what lies ahead for the American health system.

Mr Jennings is now the president of his own health care consulting firm, which assists foundations, health systems, payers, and other managed care stakeholders with developing high-quality and efficient health care policies.
