This course is designed for Electrophysiologists, Electrophysiology Fellows, Interventional Cardiologists, and Cardiothoracic Surgeons who are interested in developing skills related to pacemaker implantation and management.
Objectives
-Understand Class I indications for a pacemaker implant
-Select leads of proper length and suitable introducers based on patient’s anatomy
-Prepare the patient and room
-Create the pocket and gain venous access
-Recall the steps of placing RV and RA leads in ideal locations
-Test the pace/sense leads to meet implant criteria
-Suture the leads to the pectoralis and close the incision
