Research Update

Jodie Elrod, Managing Editor

October 2008

Dear Readers,

In our October issue of EP Lab Digest, we continue some of our favorite sections (e.g., EP 101, Patient Perspectives) as well as bring you some feature interviews with select EP experts. Our first interview this month is with Dr. Maya Guglin from the University of South Florida; her recent research shows the possible uses of non-antiarrhythmic medications for treating atrial fibrillation. In another interview this month we speak with Richard Kobza, MD about his research evaluating the activities of ICD patients with respect to sports activities, stays at high altitude, and driving. In addition, we are happy to feature several patient-centered articles this month. In our new installment of EP Lab Digest’s “Patient Perspectives” section, we talk with Tracey Conway, an SCA survivor who now gives heart health presentations around the country. We also showcase the Sudden Cardiac Arrest Foundation, including information on their National SCA Survivor Registry™. As always, if you would be interested in submitting an article to EP Lab Digest, please contact us at “jelrod@hmpcommunications.com”. We are always looking for new writers, so if you would like to contribute, we would love to hear from you!

Thanks for reading!
