Inside (and Outside) the EP Lab

Jodie Elrod Managing Editor, EP Lab Digest

December 2006

Dear readers,

In this month's issue, we hear the perspective of both the physician as well as the patient. Highlights include: In our interview with George Van Hare, MD from the University of California San Francisco and Stanford University, he talks about what it is like to direct one of the largest pediatric arrhythmia programs in the country. He also describes his work with Heart to Heart, a nonprofit organization that sends teams of pediatric cardiologists and surgeons to St Petersburg and Samara to treat Russian cardiac patients. In addition, author and pacemaker patient Dawn Huberty writes about the website she created to help women with pacemakers and heart disease. Dawn started the website shortly after her second pacemaker implant, because she wondered if other pacemaker patients had had the same experiences she had. Her website includes a monthly newsletter, scheduled chats, informative articles, and friendship to other patients in need. As always, please keep me posted on what you would like to see in future issues of EP Lab Digest. If you have any suggestions, please let us know your opinion is important to us!

Thanks for reading!

Best regards,

Jodie Elrod, Managing Editor, EP Lab Digest
