New State-of-the-Art EP Facilities: Two Innovative New EP Institutions are Highlighted this Month
February 2008
Dear readers,
In our January issue, we featured several articles about promising research and technologies for 2008. This month, we highlight some innovative new EP institutions, including:
In our interview with Dr. Jose Jalife, he talks about his move from SUNY Upstate Medical University to the University of Michigan (U-M) in Ann Arbor, Michigan, to establish the U-M Center for Arrhythmia Research. As Dr. Jalife says, this new center will be a unique translational research and training environment that will go from the bench to the bedside. Renovations are currently undergoing, so the move will start around March 15, 2008.
In addition, in November 2007, Texas Cardiac Arrhythmia Institute (TCAI) and St. David s Medical Center unveiled a new training center, which included the installation of several advanced technologies such as the Stereotaxis Niobe ® system and the Sensei Robotic Catheter System. It is the goal of St. David s Medical Center and TCAI to train the entire EP community, including national and international physicians. Check out their article to find out what training programs are available.
