IAEMSC Announces New Officers, Board Members
PRESS RELEASE
WASHINGTON, D.C.—The International Association of Emergency Medical Services Chiefs (IAEMSC) announced April 28, 2022, the results of its 2022 election of officers.
The latest association officers will serve two-year terms expiring in 2024. Daniel R. Gerard, MS, RN, NRP, of the Alameda Fire Department EMS Division (CA), assumes the position of IAEMSC president after serving his term as president-elect.
The current IAEMSC leadership team now includes:
Officers (2022–2024):
- Immediate Past President—Dave Mitchell, Arvada Fire Protection District (CO)
- President-Elect—Scott Cormier, Emergency Management Medxcel (IN)
- Vice President—James Brothers, Howard County Fire Rescue (Ret., MD)
- Secretary—Mark Lamphier, Gaston County Emergency Medical Services (NC)
- Treasurer—Christian Callsen, Austin/Travis County EMS (Ret., TX)
Board of Directors (At Large):
- Darren Sandbeck, Alberta Health Services (Alberta, Canada)
- Wren Nealy, Cypress Creek EMS (TX)
- Ben Podsiadlo, State of Mass. Homeland Security (MA)
- Scott Kasper, Albuquerque Ambulance Service (NM)

The IAEMSC is a nonprofit professional association established to support, promote and advance the leadership of response entities and to advocate for the EMS profession. IAEMSC membership consists of leaders from both career and volunteer EMS organizations, representing a diverse group of public and private EMS agencies that respond to over 6.2 million emergencies and transport nearly 3.3 million patients each year.
The IAEMSC thanks outgoing officers Nicolena Johnson Mitchell, Ezekiel Peters, and Dave Baldwin for their service to the association and the profession.
