SafeBVM Corp. is founded by two physician entrepreneurs -Prathamesh Prabhudesai and Haris Shekhani- based on their thesis at Georgia Tech and Emory School of Medicine. The team developed the SIP™ Safety Accessory for the Bag Valve Mask (BVM) to address the common problem of inadvertent high-pressure ventilation, gastric insufflation, vomiting and subsequent complications like aspiration pneumonia and ARDS in the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and Emergency Department (ED) that have an estimated cost of care ranging up to $140,000/ per patient. SafeBVM's mission is to improve the quality of care and reduce healthcare costs. The product has received traction from key stakeholders in the field.
