Developments in AI, Plaque Assessment to Be Showcased at SCCT2022
Arlington, VA (July 12, 2022) — Device manufacturers will be displaying their latest technologies at the 2022 Society of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography (SCCT) Annual Scientific Meeting (SCCT2022) being held in Las Vegas July 15 – 17. The industry’s top computed tomography (CT) companies — Canon Medical Systems USA, Inc., GE Healthcare, HeartFlow and Siemens Healthineers — have chosen SCCT2022 as a key platform to inform and connect with physicians about their products and services.

New technology to be presented by Canon Medical at SCCT2022 includes Super Resolution for Cardiac CT with Precise IQ Engine (PIQE) Deep Learning Reconstruction, designed to fully utilize the maximum resolution of the detector. PIQE delivers ultra-high resolution cardiac imaging on Canon Medical’s wide-area detector CT system for improved assessment of in-stent restenosis and plaque evaluation.
Cleerly, Inc. and Canon Medical have partnered to tackle coronary artery disease, offering AI-enabled whole-heart atherosclerosis evaluation with auto-generated reports supporting consistent and clinically relevant results. Whether building a new advanced cardiac CT imaging program from the ground up or already have an existing one, this integrated solution is expected to help accelerate and enhance cardiac CT programs.

New at this year's SCCT Annual Scientific Meeting, GE Healthcare will be showcasing technologies that provide high-volume temporal resolution and automation to deliver an effortless motion-free cardiac CT images at any heart rate.
The CardioGraphe is a purpose-built CT specifically for CCTA is optimized for the heart, providing excellent diagnostic image quality in an efficient cardiac-focused workflow.
Another innovation included the New Revolution Apex Platform with a 0.23 sec/rotation and best temporal resolution - 19.5 msec effective temporal resolution with Snapshot Freeze 2 that reduces cardiac induced motion artifacts in the whole heart.

The Siemens Healthineers sponsored symposium, “Real-world results: Cardiovascular care with the world’s first photon-counting CT” will showcase the NAEOTOM Alpha, Siemens’ photon-counting CT scanner released in November 2021 and hailed by the FDA as “the First Major Imaging Device Advancement for Computed Tomography in Nearly a Decade.”
