Society of Invasive Cardiovascular Professionals (SICP) November 2013 News

SICP CHAPTER LIAISON

SICP is excited to announce and welcome Erwin A. Wuehr, BS, CP as Chapter Liaison. Erwin graduated from the Milwaukee School of Engineering with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biomedical Engineering, and completed its post-baccalaureate program in Cardiovascular Perfusion in 1988. He worked as a perfusionist for many years before accepting a position at the Milwaukee Area Technical College to develop the Cardiovascular and Anesthesia Technology programs in 1996. After developing the programs, he became the Program Director of both and has held that position since 1998. The Invasive program was expanded to include Echocardiography in 2003. Both tracks are accredited: Invasive since 2000 and Echo since 2005.

In 2005 he became active in the formation of the Wisconsin Chapter of the SICP (WI-SICP), serving as its first Vice President. He served as President of the WI-SICP in 2009 and has remained on the Board since its inception. His goals are to be able to provide educational opportunities to those within the profession through the WI-SICP’s Annual Educational Conference, to expand the WI-SICP to include quarterly regional conferences and a chapter newsletter, and to increase awareness of the profession within hospitals. He has served on many accreditation site visit teams for the JRC-CVT.

Erwin is married with two adult sons and three grandchildren. He is a huge Beatles fan, enjoys riding his Harley, and working on his and his son’s homes.
