Congratulations to Evelyn Quintana from Waterbury Hospital Cath Lab & UConn Health Center in Connecticut for recently passing the RCIS exam! We are ALL very proud of you! Becky Smith is an RN at the Cardiovascular Care Center, part of Olathe Medical Center in Olathe, KS. She started working in cath labs in Houston, Texas, during the 1980’s. This included working at St. Luke’s and Texas Children’s, where she worked with Dr. Charles Mullins, supporting some of his ground-breaking techniques in pediatrics. She then worked for several years as a clinical instructor for a large manufacturer, teaching hemodynamics all over the world. When she started work with Olathe Medical Center, Becky had experience in almost every kind of invasive procedure (diagnostic and interventional), with the exception of electrophysiology. Over the past few years with Olathe Medical Center, she has become one of the primary EP RNs. Last year, she passed her RCIS exam. She recently spent several months studying for her RCES. She passed the RCES exam on her first attempt, making her one of the few RNs in the Kansas City metro area who has both certifications. Congratulations, Becky!
