American College of Cardiovascular Administrators Dear Editor: Your September 2003 Cath Lab Spotlight* highlighted the American College of Cardiovascular Administrators (ACCA) in its sidebar, The Following Questions Are Courtesy of the SICP. Similarly, your August 2003 issue profiled one of our members.** We appreciate your recognition of the high-quality programs directed by ACCA members who are key leaders in cardiovascular medicine. ACCA is a specialty group of the American Academy of Medical Administrators (AAMA), a multi-disciplinary healthcare community offering access to leadership opportunities, solutions, strategies and contacts. Our mission is to prepare healthcare leaders to expand their expertise, achieve their career aspirations and improve healthcare delivery. Specifically, ACCA provides a forum for the discussion and study of topics of mutual interest among cardiovascular, cardiopulmonary, and respiratory professionals and prepares these managers and executives to effectively contribute to the leadership of rapidly changing institutions within the healthcare system. ACCA advocates on behalf of cardiovascular administrators within the medical community and with federal regulatory agencies. We recognize personal achievement through the credential of FACCA, Fellow of the American College of Cardiovascular Administrators. We have also played an important role in the development of the Cath Lab CQI Toolkit under the auspices of the ACC. Members of the ACCA come together for cutting-edge programming at our annual Cardiovascular Administrators’ Management Conference. The 2004 meeting will be held from March 4-6 at the Hotel InterContinental in New Orleans. Again, we appreciate the recognition you have provided our members’ programs in recent issues. ACCA members are clearly an important audience for your publication and important leaders in cardiovascular administration. I hope that you will take the opportunity to get to know them better. Please join several hundred of our members and exhibitors in New Orleans, March 4-6, for our Cardiovascular Administrators’ Management Conference. You will find it quite enlightening. Additional information about AAMA/ACCA is available on our website at www.aameda.org. *Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital, Roanoke, VA **Lee Philips, RN, Director of Invasive Cardiology at Lehigh Valley Hospital and Health Network in Allentown, PA
