A global leader in medical technology, Guidant pioneers life saving cardiac and vascular technology to give patients another day. Another year. Another lifetime.
As a market leader, we continue to innovate. You and your patients deserve nothing less. That’s why we continue to challenge ourselves, always looking for ways to improve our coronary product performance. From a comprehensive line of lesion specific stents to angioplasty system products like coronary dilatation and guide wires, Guidant will continue to provide you with excellent products for coronary intervention.
Since the US introduction of the Guidant MULTI-LINK® Coronary Stent System in the fall of 1997, Guidant has been a leading innovator in stent technology. Great strides in technological innovation have allowed us to introduce at least one workhorse stent every year. In September 2002, we launched our sixth generation workhorse stent, the MULTI-LINK ZETA Coronary Stent System.
The MULTI-LINK ZETA system utilizes the same clinically proven implant as the MULTI-LINK PENTA®, maintaining the benefits of a 17.5% binary restenosis rate and the excellent delivery of the QuickTrack ST Balloon, with its soft and flexible Pebax material, is designed to minimize vessel injury with short tapers and low stent-to-shoulder. The MULTI-LINK ZETA system is all about confidence: Confidence in acute success and confidence in long-term clinical outcomes.
Confidence in delivering a stent to small vessels is crucial as well. That’s why the MULTI-LINK PIXEL Stent System is designed for tailored performance in small vessels*. PIXEL’s thin strut, minimum metal design helps make the stent highly flexible, for trouble-free deliverability. The PIXEL Registry had a low 8.8% Target Site Revascularization rate.

Possis is pioneering mechanical thrombectomy, the rapid, safe and effective removal of blood clots from native arteries and veins, as well as from synthetic and saphenous vein grafts. The Company currently has a portfolio of three FDA indications for use of its AngioJet® Rheolytic Thrombectomy System. The system has been used to treat over 100,000 patients in 1,000 locations worldwide.
The AngioJet® Thrombectomy system is the most advanced catheter-based thrombectomy system available today. The intricately designed components of the system are designed to offer safety, power, performance and versatility. The AngioJet System offers many advantages over alternative treatments; the most important advantage being safety monitoring and balanced, isovolumetric flow. The AngioJet System provides the best method for rapid, decisive thrombectomy.
It is proven to be safe and effective in removing thrombus from heart attack victims and from patients undergoing treatment of their bypass grafts. In addition, it is cost-effective for the hospital, lowering overall patient treatment costs. It is the only mechanical thrombectomy device approved for the coronary vasculature. The AngioJet System is also approved for thrombus removal from peripheral arteries of the legs. The AngioJet System is the only mechanical thrombectomy device approved for the peripheral arteries, and it has been shown to be rapid, safe and effective in removing thrombus from the larger vessels of the legs.
The AngioJet is also FDA approved for removing thrombus from dialysis access grafts, which clot over because of the demands of repeated access for routine dialysis. The company has a current IDE submission for a clinical trial using the AngioJet System in ischemic stroke, which is caused by blood clots within the brain. Over the past years, Possis Medical has substantially improved its product offerings in its approved indications, primarily through the introduction of proprietary Cross-Stream technology, which enhances the clot-cutting action at the tip of the catheter to clear out a higher volume of clot.
