UHS Partners With Lehigh Valley Health Network on New Facility

Universal Health Services (UHS) and Lehigh Valley Health Network (LVHN) have announced plans to build a 144-bed behavioral health hospital in Hanover Township, Pennsylvania. The new facility will be located across from the Lehigh Valley Hospital—Muhlenberg campus.

Groundbreaking for the 97,000-square-foot facility is slated for spring 2024. The hospital is expected to open in fall 2025. The new facility will be operated jointly by LVHN and UHS and is projected to create more than 300 full-time jobs for nurses, clinicians, therapists, technicians, and administrative staff.

The opening of the facility will nearly triple the number of inpatient beds available in the Lehigh Valley, LVHN CEO Brian A. Nester, DO, said in a news release.
