Business Briefs: RCA, Oceans Mental Health Services, SonderMind, Hegira Health, Community Care Services

Recovery Centers of America at St. Charles, an inpatient treatment facility in the Chicagoland area that opened in 2020, has announced the launch of a nearby supporting outpatient treatment center in South Elgin, Illinois.

The new RCA Outpatient Center at South Elgin is 10 minutes from the St. Charles inpatient facility. Open to substance use disorder patients, the facility offers outpatient treatment, intensive outpatient treatment, and partial hospitalization services, with group and individual counseling, family therapy, recovery seminars, alumni support, and wellness activities.

Oceans Mental Health Services Announces Rebrand

Ocean Mental Health Services, a Toms River, New Jersey-based provider of mental health, behavioral, and addiction treatment services, announced on Wednesday that it is rebranding as Bright Harbor Healthcare.

The company employs 425 professionals at its 10 locations in Ocean County, New Jersey. In addition to its core residential services, the newly renamed Bright Harbor offers primary care, an onsite pharmacy, and an integrated trauma center. Recently, the company added transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) therapy.

SonderMind Acquires Predictive Analytics Firm Qntfy

SonderMind, a provider mental and behavioral health business support services to improve providers’ access, utilization and outcomes, announced that it has acquired Qntfy, a predictive analytics platform. Its founder, Glen Coppersmith, PhD, will join the SonderMind executive team as chief data officer.

SonderMind said in a news release that the acquisition of Qntfy will add data-learning capabilities to support providers’ ability to provide personalized therapy and eliminate the need to coordinate and facilitate measurement-based care independently.

Michigan CCBHCs Announce Merger Plans

A pair of not-for-profit behavioral healthcare providers in Wayne County, Michigan, have announced plans to merge. Hegira Health and Community Care Services, both Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinics, are joining forces under the Hegira banner to treat mental health and substance use disorders. The combined organization will have a staff of more than 500.

Hegira Health CEO Carol Zuniga will continue in her current role, while CCS executive director Susan Kozak will take on the title of chief operating officer. The deal is expected to be finalized in the second quarter of 2022.
