Pinnacle Acquires MBA Wellness Center in Georgia

Pinnacle Treatment Centers, operator of a network of community-based drug and alcohol addiction treatment services, recently announced that it has acquired MBA Wellness Center in Stockbridge, Georgia. MBA Wellness Center is a privately owned outpatient opioid addiction treatment program south of Atlanta that serves more than 130 patients per day.

The acquisition is Pinnacle’s second in 6 months, following a deal to add Stepping Stone of North Carolina in June.

Pinnacle first entered Georgia in 2020 with its purchase of HealthQwest, an opioid use disorder treatment provider with 5 locations. MBA Wellness Center will now operate under the HealthQwest name.

Private Equity Firm MBF Healthcare Partners II Acquires ABA Connect

MBF Healthcare Partners II, a middle-market private equity firm focused on healthcare, has completed its acquisition ABA Connect, a Texas-based provider of applied behavior analysis (ABA) therapy to children and adolescents with autism spectrum disorder. Since it was founded in 2013, ABA Connect has expanded to 6 facilities in the Austin and Houston metropolitan areas in Texas.

The deal marks MBF’s re-entrance into the ABA therapy sector after the firm sold its stake in Acorn Health to the Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan Board in August 2021. MBF was a founding member of Acorn Health.
