Ochsner Lafayette General and Oceans Healthcare to Build New Center
Ochsner Lafayette General and Oceans Healthcare have announced the formation of a partnership to build a behavioral health center in southwest Louisiana. The facility, to be called Ochsner Behavioral Health Acadiana, will have a 120-bed capacity and is expected to open in late 2024.
The new center will house inpatient services for adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients, along with outpatient treatment options.
The 2 participating organizations are expected to invest about $30 million in the project. Development will be led by Oceans Healthcare. Preliminary site considerations are underway, but a location for the new center has not yet been finalized.
Children’s Minnesota Prepares for Launch of Inpatient Unit
Children’s Minnesota announced it opening its first inpatient mental health unit on November 29. The unit is located in the organization’s hospital in St. Paul. Children’s Minnesota is planning a phased launch that will start with adolescent patients and then expand to include younger patients, eventually serving patients as young as 6 years old once the facility is fully operational. The new inpatient unit will include 22 private rooms that allow a parent to stay overnight with a child, as well as a multidisciplinary care team.
In a news release announcing the opening, Children’s Minnesota said it expects the new unit will provide care for more than 1000 children and adolescents per year.
Thrive Healthcare Acquires Harmony Recovery Group
Harmony Recovery Group announced it has been acquired by Thrive Healthcare, a financial and strategic group specializing in behavioral health service delivery.
Led by CEO Deja Gilbert, PhD, LMHC, LPC, Harmony operates a network of behavioral health treatment facilities, the first of which opened in 2015. The company currently has 10 locations across Florida, North Carolina, Tennessee, New Jersey, and Massachusetts. Harmony specializes in programming for mental health and substance use disorder, as well as dual diagnosis care.
Reverie Mind Acquires Arizona Ketamine Treatment and Research Institute
Reverie Mind, a psychedelic clinic and research organization, announced that it has acquired Arizona Ketamine Treatment and Research Institute (AKTARI).
With its technology platform, known as Informed, Reverie Mind captures real-world, real-time data to build individualized treatment protocols. Its clinics provide clients with access to plant-based therapies, special access programs, traditional therapy options, and clinical trials focused on psychedelic treatments for mental wellness and pain management.
In a news release announcing the deal, Reverie Mind founder and CEO Robert Wallace said the company’s acquisition of AKTARI is a key step toward “creating community access to elite healthcare professionals in the mental wellness and pain management fields and to cutting-edge clinical trial opportunities.”
