UHS Subsidiary Horizon Health Appoints New CEO

Horizon Health, a subsidiary of UHS, announced that Jennifer Facteau, LCPC, has been appointed as the organization’s next CEO. Facteau will oversee the behavioral health management organization’s growth strategies, operational efficiencies, and innovation plans.

Facteau most recently served as enterprise vice president of behavioral health for Highmark Health, and she has 20 years of healthcare and behavioral health leadership experience with integrated payer/provider health systems.

In a news release announcing her hire, Imad Ahmed, senior vice president, product management in UHS’s Behavioral Health Division, credited Facteau for her “longstanding track record of improving healthcare quality, access, service, and affordability.”

Spero Health Makes First Acquisition

Spero Health, operator of a network of outpatient addiction treatment facilities, announced that it has acquired My Turning Point, a private, Kentucky-based addiction treatment provider with 4 locations. The deal marks the first acquisition for Spero Health, which has a portfolio of 85 clinics across Kentucky, Ohio, Indiana, Virginia, West Virginia, and Tennessee.

In a news release announcing the deal, David Hayden, Spero Health senior vice president of clinical services, said patients will have weekly access to a physician or nurse practitioner, counseling, and recovery support services through an integrated care model that combines physical and behavioral health services.

AtlantiCare Finalizes Deal to Acquire John Brooks Recovery Center

An agreement for AtlantiCare to acquire John Brooks Recovery Center (JBRC) has been finalized, the 2 companies announced this week. HBRC will now be known as John Brooks Recovery Center, a member of AtlantiCare.

Based in Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey, AtlantiCare provides mental health, substance use/addiction recovery, and family care social services. The organization provides mental health services through Regional Medical Center, Physician Group, and Health Services divisions.

Its acquisition of JBRC adds a residential treatment facility, opioid treatment programs, and outpatient and intensive outpatient substance use disorder treatment programs. JBRC will also bring its sober living housing, primary healthcare clinic for individuals with hepatitis C, community peer recovery centers, and other services to AtlantiCare.
