Business Briefs: Footprints to Recovery, Connections Health Solutions, BayMark, Aware Recovery

The portfolio of behavioral healthcare treatment centers owned by Michael Milch are being united under a new brand. Footprints to Recovery, Vogue Recovery Center, South Coast Behavioral Health, and Royal Life Centers are now part of Aliya Health Group, a national behavioral health organization. Milch is the owner and CEO of all the facilities.

Under the Aliya banner, the treatment centers will align operational and admissions functions, with an executive team comprised of staff members from the organizations’ selection of treatment facilities.

The company said in a news release that the creation of the network is “a significant step toward Milch's vision of building a network of treatment centers that serve all primary mental health needs, such as eating disorders, gambling addiction, sex addiction, intimacy disorders, and complex psychiatric diagnoses.”

Connections Health Solutions Adds to Leadership Team, Board

Connections Health Solutions, a provider of behavioral healthcare crisis stabilization services, has announced a series of additions to its leadership team and board of directors.

  • James Smith has been appointed as chief operating officer. A 15-year industry veteran, Smith joins Connections having most recently served as chief operating officer for Meridien Behavioral Health.
  • Matt Miller has been named chief growth and implementation officer. Miller comes to Connections after serving as senior vice president of behavioral health at Magellan Healthcare.
  • Jane Lock, SPHR, SHRM, who has 20 years of human resources experience, has been named chief people officer.

Meanwhile, Andrey Ostrovsky, MD, managing partner at Social Innovation Ventures and attending physician at Children’s National Medical Center, and Prakash Patel, MD, lead operating executive at Growth Curve Capital, have been named to the Connections Board.

BayMark Adds 5 Indiana OBOT Programs

Through its AppleGate Recovery brand, BayMark Health Services has acquired Lucina Treatment Centers, a network of 5 office-based opioid treatment (OBOT) programs in central and northeastern Indiana. Lucina provides medication-assisted treatment and counseling in a physician’s office setting.

With its latest acquisition, the BayMark portfolio now includes 50 OBOT programs in 13 states. In addition to medication and counseling, the BayMark OBOT programs, which operate under the AppleGate and Middlesex Recovery brands, provide case management services, as well as access to medical providers, counselors, and staff who guide patients to recovery resources.

Aware Recovery Care Promotes From Within to Fill President Role

Aware Recovery Care, a provider of in-home addiction treatment services in 8 states, has promoted Andrea Auxier, PhD, to the role of president of the organization. Auxier previously served as Aware’s chief growth officer.

Prior to joining Aware, Auxier served as chief commercial officer for New Directions Behavioral Health and served as the national director of integration at Beacon Health Options. Auxier has worked with federally qualified health centers in several capacities, including a stint as director of research at Colorado’s Health Center Controlled Network and as a clinical consultant for the Bureau of Primary Health Care.
