Connections Health Solutions Announces $28 Growth Financing

Connections Health Solutions announced on Thursday that it has closed on a $28 million growth financing raise led by Town Hall Ventures, a firm that invests in healthcare solutions for underserved communities. Existing investor Heritage Group also participated in the funding round.

Connections said in a news release that it will use the funds to accelerate its entry into new markets with unmet demand for value-based mental health crisis services. Connections crisis response centers include walk-in behavioral health urgent care, a 23-hour psychiatric emergency unit, crisis stabilization, and an outpatient treatment and support program.

Praesum Healthcare Services Acquires Beacon Point

Praesum Healthcare Services of Lake Worth Beach, Florida, announced recently that it has acquired Beacon Point Recovery Center, a behavioral healthcare provider network based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Beacon Point, which has a 30-bed detox facility and 90 residential treatment beds, joins a Praesum network that now serves patients in 6 states with medical detox facilities, multiple levels of residential care, and outpatient clinics.

In a news release announcing its acquisition, Praesum said it will add 1 staff position to its headquarters to help handle non-clinical functions related to operations at Beacon Point.

Warriors Heart Opens Facility in Virginia

Warriors Heart, a private and accredited mental health and addiction treatment program for active duty military, veterans, first responders, and EMTs/paramedics, has announced the recent opening of Warriors Heart Virginia, a new program in Milford, Virginia, that joins the organization’s existing center in Bandera, Texas.

Warriors Heart CEO and Co-Founder Josh Lannon said in a news release that after the organization began exploring options for a second facility based on demand for services, Warriors Heart was recruited to Virginia 2 years ago.

Warriors Heart Virginia will offer a 42-day residential treatment program with a 60-bed facility, as well as detox services. The organization uses a peer-to-peer healing model that incorporates individual and group therapy.

Summit BHC Opens Fourth Virginia Facility

Behavioral healthcare and addiction treatment services provider Summit BHC recently announced the opening of Iron Bridge Recovery Center in Chester, Virginia. The program is the organization’s fourth facility in Virginia and its 35th overall.

Iron Bridge is an 80-bed residential treatment center that will treat adults with substance use disorder and related mental health conditions. The facility’s offerings will include detox services, residential care, and partial hospitalization programs.

Based in Franklin, Tennessee, Summit BHC operates a network of behavioral health hospitals and addiction treatment centers in 19 states.

Ellipsis Health Partners With Augmedix

Ellipsis Health, a firm that specializes in AI-generated vocal biomarker technology for the identification and monitoring of mental health conditions, has entered a strategic partnership with Augmedix, a healthcare tech company that provides ambient medical documentation and data solutions. The deal will allow healthcare providers using Augmedix to incorporate mental health screenings during clinical encounters, helping to identify issues and triage patients to appropriate levels of care.

Augmedix will integrate the Ellipsis Health application programming interface into its platform so that providers receive patients’ anxiety and depression severity scores along with ambient medical documentation during visits. The additional data points will help providers to document and address concerns about patients’ social determinants of health and to recommend appropriate care pathways.

Motivo Hires Chief Business Officer

Motivo, a clinical supervision platform that connects therapists with virtual clinical supervisors to complete the therapist licensure process, announced on Monday that the company has appointed Jon Stout as its chief business officer. In his new role, Stout will oversee various aspects of business development, partnerships, marketing, and operations.

Stout previously served as a venture partner Optum Ventures. He has also held the title of chief growth officer at AbleTo, and spent 15 years in healthcare with Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey and Deloitte, specializing in corporate finance, enterprise planning, network development, and value-based payment models.
