Business Briefs: Community Psychiatry, MindPath, Odyssey, Groups Recover Together, Talkiatry, Recovia

Community Psychiatry and MindPath Care Centers have announced plans to unite under one brand and company name: Mindpath Health.

Community Psychiatry announced in May that it had acquired MindPath Care Centers. The now-combined Mindpath Health said in a news release it will continue with expansion plans in California, North Carolina, South Carolina, Texas, Florida, and Ohio. The combined organization will have a staff of more than 450 clinicians providing collaborative, in-office, and telehealth-based outpatient behavioral healthcare services.

Odyssey Acquires Pennsylvania Programs

Odyssey Behavioral Healthcare has acquired CIVIQ Health, the parent company of Silver Pines Treatment Center and Steps to Recovery, in Levittown and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. With the acquisition, Odyssey expands its addiction and dual diagnosis capabilities, and adds detox services.

Combined by CIVIQ, Silver Pines and Steps to Recovery together provide a full continuum of substance use disorder treatment, with Silver Pines providing detox and residential treatment, while Steps to Recovery offers partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, individual therapy and assessment services.

After a 35-bed expansion is completed in the first half of 2022, the deal to acquire the 2 programs will add 75 residential and detox beds to Odyssey’s network. Odyssey operates 20 locations and affiliated outpatient services in 9 states with a capacity of more than 300 beds.

Groups Recover Together Announces 2 Executive Appointments

Groups Recover Together, provider of opioid addiction treatment services that serves 9,000 members in 13 states, this week announced that the company has appointed Matt Levesque as its new president and chief operating officer, and it has promoted Emily Alexanderson to the role of chief expansion officer.

With 2 decades of experience in healthcare, Levesque most recently served on the board of directors for MAS Medical Staffing. He also spent 12 years at athenahealth, a healthcare IT provider. Alexanderson is being elevated to the chief expansion officer role after having served as Groups’ vice president of operations and expansion, as well as vice president of finance and business operations. Alexanderson’s promotion comes as Groups continues expansion from 10 states at the start of 2021 to 15 by the end of the year, with plans to add operations in an additional 6 states in 2022.

Talkiatry Hires Senior VP of Operations

Talkiatry, provider of in-network psychiatric care, has appointed Vanessa Cao as its new senior vice president of operations. An industry veteran with 10 years of experience, Cao joins Talkiatry from HealthQuarters, where she opened the company’s first flagship location and led its care team. She has also health roles in operations for NYU Langone Health and Deloitte Consulting.

Based in New York City, Talkiatry provides psychiatric care via telehealth and in-person visits, working with major insurers and Medicaid to provide in-network care on an outpatient basis.

Recovia Opens 5th Pain Management Clinic and Behavioral Health Center in Arizona

Pain management clinic and behavioral health center operator Recovia announced it has opened a new treatment facility in Mesa, Arizona. The program offers Recovia’s outpatient non-interventional pain management and behavioral health integrated treatment programs. It is the company’s fifth location in the Valley area, joining clinics in Tempe, Deer Valley, and 2 in Phoenix.

Recovia specializes in treatments for chronic pain, general mental health, and addiction, with an integrated outpatient approach that addresses prescription medication dependency, chronic pain, and substance use disorders.
