CleanSlate Centers, which operates a national group of physician-led, office-based treatment centers for mental health, substance use, and alcohol use disorders, has announced 4 new hires for executive roles:
- Roger Anderson, senior vice president of financial operations, who will lead operational and key performance indicator improvement strategies, supporting de novo activities, and bridging individual centers with centralized finance and revenue cycle management functions.
- Crystal Fuller Morley, vice president of marketing and communications, who will oversee all patient engagement, public relations, and system-wide media relations.
- Teresa Sosa, digital marketing director, who will manage the digital presence for CleanSlate’s network of more than 80 facilities.
- Samantha Elder, director of communications, who is directing and developing internal and external communications for all the organization’s centers, as well as strategic marketing and public relations content to engage patients, and industry leaders and policymakers.
Oceans Healthcare Secures New Capital Partner
Behavioral health provider Oceans Healthcare on Tuesday announced a new capital partnership with Webster Equity Partners that the company says will facilitate continued growth with a focus on identifying markets currently underserved. Oceans operates 33 locations in the Southeast, including 23 inpatient hospital campuses and 20 intensive outpatient programs.
The company has doubled in size since 2017, an expansion highlighted by the opening of 5 behavioral health hospitals, and acquisitions and expansions of pharmacy services in 2021, along with announced plans to open 3 additional locations.
Houlihan Lokey served as the financial advisor to Oceans Healthcare for its deal with Webster, and Baker Donelson served as legal advisor.
KIPU Announces New Board Chair
KIPU, a technology partner firm for behavioral health and addiction treatment providers, announced the appointment of R. Andrew Eckert as chairman of its board of directors. Eckert has more than 20 years of healthcare experience, having most recently served as CEO of Zelis, a payments technology platform for healthcare providers.
He has also served as CEO of Acelity, a provider of wound care solutions that was acquired by 3M in 2019, and as CEO of TriZetto, a tech platform for commercial payers that was acquired by Cognizant in 2014.
Amatus Announces Rebrand for Facilities
Amatus Recovery Centers, a national operator of drug and alcohol addiction and mental health treatment programs, announced this week that it has rebranded as TruHealing Addiction and Mental Health Treatment.
The existing names of the organization’s more than 20 facilities will be co-branded during a transitional period that will ultimately lead to more brand uniformity across the network of programs, Amatus said in a news release.
Amatus Health has recently expanded into various healthcare care verticals, with a portfolio that will soon include urgent care centers and pharmacies. Amatus also recently launched Journey Autism and Behavioral Care Centers, which provides applied behavior analysis therapy to children, adolescents, and adults with autism and other intellectual and developmental disabilities.
KNR Therapy Announces Merger With Autism Learning Center
KNR Therapy, a provider of applied behavior analysis therapy, has merged with the Autism Learning Center, an ABA therapy organization based in Columbus, Georgia. The deal expands KNR’s footprint into Georgia and Alabama. The company, which is based in Tampa, Florida, operates community-based programs in Florida, Georgia, Alabama, and Massachusetts. KNR is backed by Shields Capital, a healthcare investment firm.
