Business Briefs: Bradford Health Services Acquires 2 Knoxville Facilities

Bradford Health Services, an operator of addiction treatment programs in the Southeast, has expanded its footprint with its acquisition of Cornerstone of Recovery, an SUD treatment provider based in Tennessee.

Cornerstone operates a pair of inpatient facilities in the Knoxville area, Cornerstone of Recovery and Stepping Stone to Recovery. The programs will become part of a Bradford portfolio that will now include 25 in-network facilities that offer addiction treatment and support services across Alabama, Arkansas, North Carolina and Tennessee.

Bradford is backed by Centre Partners, a middle-market private equity firm that specializes in the consumer and healthcare sectors.

Smokey Point adds programs for adolescents, adults

Smokey Point Behavioral Hospital in Marysville, Washington, has announced an expansion of its services for adolescents and adults. The facility is launching several new programs:

  • Adolescent inpatient mental health. Designed for patients ages 13 to 17, this program will use a collaborative problem solving and zones of regulation curriculum to help adolescents self-regulate and seek collaborative solutions.
  • Adult dual diagnosis and detox. This will serve men and women with substance use disorders and underlying detox issues. Smokey Point will also have an inpatient program specifically for women who have experienced trauma.
  • Telehealth intensive outpatient. Launched at the outset of the COVID-19 pandemic, Smokey Point is expanding its virtual platform to be available on an outpatient basis, including women’s IOP, dual diagnosis IOP and partial hospitalization for adolescents, beginning in the fall.

I Am Boundless launches whole-person healthcare center

I Am Boundless, a not-for-profit provider of care for individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities and behavioral healthcare challenges, has opened Boundless Health, a new facility in Columbus, Ohio, for whole-person, integrated primary, dental, behavioral and mental healthcare for individuals with I/DD.

“We have known for many years that there is an incredibly large gap in traditional healthcare when it comes to caring for and treating these at-risk populations,” Patrick Maynard, PhD, president and CEO of Boundless and Boundless Health, said in a news release. “Boundless Health is an essential additional line of service to those served by Boundless, and we have an obligation to deliver personalized healthcare to them, without limitations.”

Boundless will partner with the Ohio State University Nisonger Center to provide dental care to patients, and the program also plans to partner with medical facilities and universities in other markets to share best practices. Boundless Health will also offer select mobile services in rural and underserved geographic areas.
