Bronson Healthcare, Acadia to Build BH Hospital in Michigan

Tom Valentino, Senior Editor

Bronson Healthcare and Acadia Healthcare have announced plans for a joint venture to build an inpatient behavioral healthcare facility on a 25-acre site in Battle Creek, Michigan. Groundbreaking on the $35 million, 96-bed center is slated for this fall. It is expected to open in early 2023.

The new facility will offer a full continuum of inpatient behavioral health services for adults, including those with acute symptoms of anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder and PTSD.

Bronson, a not-for-profit, community-governed health system that serves 9 counties in southwestern Michigan, will move its existing inpatient behavioral health services currently housed at its Fieldstone Center building to the new hospital.

For Acadia, the new venture with Bronson will add to the company’s existing network of 228 behavioral healthcare facilities that operate in 40 states and Puerto Rico.
