Timberline Knolls names new staff psychiatrist

Timberline Knolls Residential Treatment Center has named announced Hariclia Hristea, MD, as a new staff psychiatrist. Hristea brings a wealth of experience in working in women's mental health, including addiction psychiatry, individual and group psychotherapy, sexual dysfunctions and the integration of various treatment modalities.

"Throughout her career Hristea has exemplified the values of excellent care and compassion, both of which formulate the foundation of treatment at Timberline Knolls."    

Hristea obtained her medical degree at Carol Davila University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Bucharest, Romania. She completed her psychiatry residency at the Rush University Medical Center. In addition, she graduated from the adult psychotherapy and fellowship programs at the Chicago Institute for Psychoanalysis. She also has training in the treatment of sexual dysfunction from Loyola University in Chicago.

Hristea joins numerous other clinical staff members at Timberline Knolls, including a team of psychiatrists; primary, family and expressive therapists; dietitians and eating disorder specialists; addictions specialists; nurses and behavioral health specialists; admissions counselors and more.

"I admire the holistic approach to treatment at Timberline Knolls," said Hristea. "It's such a sophisticated program and I'm proud to be part of a treatment team that is so passionate about helping our residents recover."

In her new role, she will provide psychiatric leadership for the inter-disciplinary treatment team and provide residents with individualized psychiatric evaluations and treatment. She will work closely with other team members to provide thorough and holistic care for residents.
