Rogers focuses on young adult mood disorders with Chicago program
Rogers Behavioral Health has launched an extension of is outpatient program for young adults with mood disorders at its Chicago location. The specialized, partial-hospitalization program called FOCUS offers evidence-based treatment for young adults ages 18 to 30 with depression, bipolar disorder and other mood disorders.
First created in 2014 at its homebase in Wisconsin, the program aims to give young adults therapeutic tools for managing harmful behaviors and engage more with life, work, and family. Treatment is offered six hours per day, five days a week at Roger’s Skokie, Ill., location and includes behavioral activation, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavior therapy-informed skills. Clinical psychologist Paula Young, PhD, is supervising the program.
“We have learned a great deal with our initial FOCUS residential program, and know that a need in our communities exists for this additional level of specialized care,” said Karen Cassiday, PhD, clinical director for Rogers—Chicago, in a press statement
Rogers Behavioral Health—Chicago recently opened this past July and provides services for treatment of obsessive-compulsive disorder and anxiety disorders. Treatment for adolescents with eating disorders was added in November 2015.
