New association offers compliance resources

Coinciding with the start of National Recovery Month, a new association has opened its doors for membership. The Los Angeles-based American Addiction Treatment Association (AATA) aims to help treatment center operators navigate the legal landscape as the market transforms.

Compliance with state and federal regulations will be a major focus. State-specific guidance will include licensing, certification, regulations, billing, enforcement and operational requirements.

Executive Director Gina Meyer says a network of legal experts is providing the resources regarding compliance in four states now with another nine states nearing launch. In time, all 50 states will be covered in the network.

“Our goal is not to supplant the great organizations out there doing advocacy work and convening the industry, but instead to offer regulatory compliance content we think is missing,” Meyer said in a statement.

A number of live events and webinars are scheduled this year for AATA members.
