People protest treatment of mentally ill homeless man in Albuquerque

After police shot and killed a 38-year-old  homeless man with a history of mental illness, protesters accused the Albuquerque Police Department with use of excessive police brutality. The protest turned ugly, lasting nine hours and ending with police using riot gear to break up the crowd. 

A protest in New Mexico turned violent late Sunday as local police clashed with civilians who were protesting the death of a homeless man after a standoff with police earlier this month.
