New Directions names new president and CEO

New Directions Behavioral Health, a Kansas City-based behavioral healthcare firm, announced its board of directors has named Lee Tuveson as the organization’s new president and chief executive officer, effective May 1.

Tuveson succeeds John Quick, PhD, who served as president and CEO since the company was founded in 1995. Quick will remain with New Directions as a consultant.

Tuveson has served as New Directions’ chief financial and administration officer since 2014. Previously, he spent seven years at aerospace manufacturer McDonnell Douglas and 18 years at Magellan Health Services, most recently as vice president of finance and contracts.

Serving 13 million people, New Directions provides managed behavioral health services, an employee assistance program, organizational consulting, and health coaching to private and public healthcare plans, Fortune 100 companies, large and medium employers, and labor groups.
