New adolescent program opens in Colorado Springs
Peak View Behavioral Health (Colorado Springs, Colo.) is now treating adolescents in their new behavioral health hospital that opened January 21. Here, they will offer both inpatient and outpatient programs for those ages 12 through 17. The inpatient adolescent program will have 20 acute beds and the outpatient program will offer full day treatment on weekdays.
“We know there are adolescents in our community who are hurting and looking for mental health services,” Peak View Medical Director Dr. Julie Sanford, MD, said. “Peak View is excited to expand our services to serve this vulnerable population, as well as their families.”
Peak View Behavioral Health – a 92-bed, acute psychiatric hospital – currently serves adults and geriatrics. In June 2012, a new 56,000 square-foot hospital was opened and since then the hospital has added an additional 100 employees.
“Peak View will now be treating adolescents through geriatrics and we’re excited to treat such a range of needs,” Peak View Behavioral Health CEO Gary Miller said.
