NAPHS names director of policy and regulatory affairs
The National Association of Psychiatric Health Systems (NAPHS) announced that Scott Dziengelski has joined the organization as director of policy and regulatory affairs. In this position, Dziengelski will develop and advocate NAPHS’s positions before federal agencies to effect change in federal regulations, statutes and directives relating to behavioral health systems.
Dziengelski previously served legislative director for U.S. Rep. Tim Murphy of Pennsylvania. In a news release distributed Wednesday, NAPHS President and CEO Mark Covall credited Dziengelski with helping to build bipartisan support for the Helping Families in Mental Health Crisis Act, a bill sponsored by Murphy which led to reforms that became part of the 21st Century Cures law.
