Rosecrance plans to finalize merger with Iowa organization in 2019

Leading Midwest behavioral health organization Rosecrance today announced that it has agreed to a merger with Iowa-based Jackson Recovery Centers that is expected to be finalized in mid-2019. Rosecrance's latest merger activity would increase the company's overall revenues past the $100 million level.

In recent years in Illinois alone, Rosecrance has merged with the Janet Wattles Center and the Prairie Center, and also has seen Community Elements join the organization. The planned merger with Jackson Recovery Centers would result in an organization with nearly 60 locations across the Midwest.

Rosecrance president and CEO Philip Eaton said in a news release, referring to the leadership of Rosecrance and Jackson Recovery Centers, “I believe our boards of directors are doing what good nonprofits should do, and that is to look down the road 5 or 10 years and ask what we need to do to grow our mission, given the challenges we face with funding and the opportunities we have to meet growing community needs.”

Eaton added, “The greatest single factor to be considered as we go forward is the opportunity to create a truly integrated system of behavioral healthcare.”

The two nonprofit organizations have entered the due-diligence phase of the merger discussions. Plans call for Jackson to become an affiliate of Rosecrance next January.
