Center for Discovery opens eating disorder outpatient program

Center for Discovery announced it has opened an outpatient program in the South Bay of Los Angeles for the treatment of eating disorders. The program specializes in treating: anorexia, bulimia, binge-eating, avoidant/restrictive food intake disorder, as well as co-occurring conditions such as anxiety, mood disorders, trauma, substance use and self-harm.

Treatment options at Discovery South Bay Los Angeles include partial hospitalization, day treatment and intensive outpatient programming for adolescents and adults.

Center for Discovery, which operates eating disorder treatment programs across the U.S. as an in-network provider with major insurers and has been in the industry for 20 years, says in a news release that its decision to open the outpatient program in Southern California was a response to requests it received from area professionals “seeking a local option for their clients and patients who require a level of care higher than traditional outpatient or who are stepping down from residential treatment or inpatient hospitalization.”
