Gosnold grant supports aftercare efforts
The Blue Cross-Blue Shield Foundation has awarded a grant of $50,000 to Gosnold on Cape Cod, which will be used to expand its recovery management program. The initiative utilizes community-based coaches to support patients following inpatient addiction treatment.
Also included in the aftercare program are smart phone apps, telehealth, family coaching, integration with recovery support groups and recovery socialization. Since 2013, the program has produced favorable results among participants, who are demonstrating longer periods of remission, reductions in readmissions to inpatient care, and declines in hospital emergency room visits, according to Gosnold.
“It is our hope that one day, every patient will have the benefit of this service. It is making such a positive difference for so many," said Raymond V. Tamasi, Gosnold CEO, in a statement.
