US firm invests in leading UK addiction treatment center operator

With demand for addiction treatment in the United Kingdom on the rise, Eli Global, the multinational information and services firm based in Durham, N.C., has invested in UK Addiction Treatment Group (UKAT), the UK’s largest private addiction treatment firm by patient volume. Mertz Taggart provided exclusive merger and acquisition advisory services for the transaction.

UKAT operates seven facilities, each of which admits an average 180 private and National Health Service patients per month for the treatment of substance use disorders, as well as process and behavioral addictions.

With the investment by Eli Global, UKAT cofounders said in a news release that they plan to expand the company’s footprint to reach more patients across the United Kingdom and Europe.
