Merger creates large nonprofit in Washington
Two Seattle-based, not-for-profit organizations, Navos and Community Psychiatric Clinic (CPC), announced they will merge, with the combined company taking the Navos name on Nov. 1, 2018. The deal adds four outpatient locations to the Navos network.
“This merger will allow for significant economies of scale,” David Johnson, CEO of Navos, said in a statement.
Officials said in a video that the organizations will consider treatment of mild and moderate disorders a growth area for the combined company, especially as integration takes hold in the larger healthcare community. Doug Crandall, CEO of CPC, said that the organization will now be able to expand services, treating a greater scope of needs.
In 2017, Navos affiliated with MultiCare, a not-for-profit, community-based health system with its own behavioral health program. In 2018, Greater Lakes Mental Healthcare of Pierce County also joined MultiCare as an affiliate organization. The new transaction brings four organizations together to become the largest behavioral health provider in Washington State, according to the announcement.
