Adler School to host conference on the Social Determinants of Urban Mental Health
In its second global conference on September 19 and 20 in Chicago, the Adler School of Professional Psychology's Institute on Social Exclusion will explore "The Social Determinants of Urban Mental Health: Paving the Way Forward."
The conference is intended for professionals in government, urban design, and philanthropy to review the latest research on how cities impact the mental health of urban residents. The goal is to identify new tools, practices, and processes for ensuring that the impacts of city enviroments promote the positive mental health and well-being of urban populations.
Among the speakers is Michael Marmot, PhD, director of the University College London Institute of Health Equity, whose decades of research have helped advance understanding of the social determinants of health and mental health.
