SoutheastHEALTH, UHS to Build Behavioral Health Facility in Missouri

SoutheastHEALTH and Universal Health Services on Thursday announced they are entering into a partnership in which UHS will serve as majority owner and oversee day-to-day operations at a new behavioral health hospital to be constructed in southeast Missouri.

The freestanding, 68,000 square foot facility will have a 102-bed capacity. The hospital, projected to cost $33 million, is expected to open in fall 2020. It will employ more than 180 clinicians, mental health technicians and support staff.

Other features of the new facility:

  • Full continuum of inpatient services
  • Geriatric unit
  • Two adult care units
  • Child and adolescent unit
  • Outpatient programs to address mental health concerns

The announcement of the new facility comes one day after UHS announced fourth-quarter adjusted earnings of $2.37 per share, beating estimates by 0.9%.
