Sheppard Pratt Partners with CalvertHealth to Support BH Services

CalvertHealth, an independent health system in Prince Frederick, Maryland, and Sheppard Pratt, a private, not-for-profit provider of mental health services, have announced a partnership in which Sheppard Pratt will support an expansion of CalvertHealth’s behavioral health services.

The deal is the latest step in Sheppard Pratt’s expansion across Maryland, which has included acquisitions, other partnerships with hospital systems and the planned opening of a new Baltimore-Washington campus slated for June. CalvertHealth is the third partner to sign on with Sheppard Pratt over the past two years, joining Garret Regional Medical Center and Anne Arundel Medical Center.

Sheppard Pratt will provide CalvertHealth with clinical services and leadership to boost the latter organization’s behavioral health offerings. Sheppard Pratt will also provide and oversee staffing, including psychiatrists and nurse practitioners in partnership with CalvertHealth Medical Center’s Behavioral Health Unit.

CalvertHealth offers adolescent and adult inpatient mental healthcare, a psychiatric partial hospitalization program, intensive outpatient programs, and referral and care coordination services.
