Pinnacle Opens In-Hospital Detox Program in Ohio

Pinnacle Treatment Centers announced that it has opened its first in-hospital program in Ravenna, Ohio.

Recovery Works Portage is a 36-bed detox unit at University Hospitals Portage Medical Center, which is about 40 miles southeast of Cleveland. The program will help patients manage withdrawal symptoms, and also provide care coordination and long-term recovery planning services. It is staffed by doctors, nurses, patient navigators, family specialists and residential aides, and it will accept Medicaid and most major commercial insurance plans.

Recovery Works Portage becomes part of Pinnacle’s integrated treatment model initiative in Ohio, as the company also operates community-based programs that provide outpatient MAT services, residential treatment, intensive outpatient and partial hospitalization programs with recovery homes in the state.

“This is another opportunity to meet patients where they’re at and where they present,” Pinnacle CEO Joe Pritchard said in a news release. “Hospitals and emergency departments strive to provide the best care possible for people struggling with addiction. Our collaboration with UH Portage Medical Center gives them the opportunity to service this population while giving us the opportunity to expand what we do during a time when it’s needed most.”
