Origins Announces New Leader for Florida Programs

Origins Behavioral Healthcare announced that Terry Shapiro has been promoted to vice president and executive director of the company’s Florida programs, including the Hanley Center.

Shapiro, a certified addictions counselor, joined Origins in 2015 as a professional relations officer and was promoted to regional vice president of professional relations in 2018. Prior to his time with Origins, Shapiro served as executive director for Hazelden Chicago and at the Council for Alcohol and Drug Abuse Services in Tennessee.

In his new role, he will succeed Origins’ current vice president of operations, Brad Sylvain, who will now focus on expanding the company’s geographic footprint and identifying additional revenue opportunities.

“Terry is a well-respected professional with decades of behavioral health experience who intimately understands Origins’ mission and treatment model. His expertise and leadership will ensure a seamless transition as we build upon our clinical model with an eye toward the future,” Origins president and CEO Jim Caldwell said in a news release.
