Odyssey Behavioral Healthcare Announces Executive Transition
Odyssey Behavioral Healthcare, the Brentwood, Tennessee-based operator of a national behavioral healthcare treatment programs, announced on Friday that Richard Clark, FACHE has been named as the organization’s next CEO. Founder Scott Kardenetz moves up to the position of executive chairman, a role in which he will focus on strategic planning and acquisitions.
Clark, a 30-year industry veteran, has served as Odyssey’s president and chief operating officer since January 2020, joining the company having previously served in leadership roles including Western Group president at Acadia Healthcare. As CEO, Clark will be tasked with continuing Odyssey’s expansion—the organization now operates 20 locations in 8 states since its launch in 2015—as the company aims to grow in both new and existing markets at the outpatient level and through expanded payor relationships.
“Richard’s leadership and commitment to Odyssey has been highly evident over the past 16 months,” Kardenetz said in a news release announcing the transition. “I am confident that Odyssey will continue its mission and growth strategies by providing evidence-based, superior behavioral health services to those with complex psychiatric conditions under Richard’s leadership.”
Odyssey provides services for adults and adolescents who struggle with eating disorders, psychiatric diagnoses, autism spectrum disorders, addiction, and dual diagnoses.
