Constellations adds Hanbleceya Recovery Network to portfolio

Constellation Behavioral Health on Tuesday announced that it has acquired Hanbleceya Recovery Network. With the acquisition, Constellation now has a capacity of more than 90 beds with specialized treatment programs for addiction, mental health and co-occurring behavioral health disorders. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Founded in 1979, Hanbleceya’s recovery network includes the Hanbleceya Treatment Center, which offers long-term treatment of severe and complex mental illness, as well as Helix Healing and Recovery, a treatment program that provides shorter term care for higher functioning individuals suffering from trauma and mood disorders.

The offerings of San Diego-based Hanbleceya Recovery Network complement Constellation’s existing portfolio, which includes Alta Mira in Sausalito, Calif., and Bridges to Recovery in Los Angeles, says Kevin Taggart, managing partner of Mertz Taggart, the firm representing Hanbleceya in the transaction.

“It fills out some of Constellation’s clinical needs in that they can now treat people who need longer term care, as well as short-term care at a lower price point than their Bridges program,” Taggart tells Behavioral Healthcare Executive.

CEO Kerry Paulson and Executive Clinical Director Karlyn Pleasants, PsyD, will remain in their respective roles with Hanbleceya Recovery Network.
