Kindred Acquires Two WellBridge Facilities in Texas

Kindred Healthcare announced that it has signed an agreement to acquire two WellBridge behavioral health hospitals in the Dallas-Fort Worth area in Texas.

WellBridge Greater Dallas and WellBridge Fort Worth provide inpatient and outpatient services to adult and senior populations, with each having a capacity of 48 beds. The facilities will retain their WellBridge names after the deal is finalized.

The acquisitions are part of a growth strategy across the U.S. for Louisville, Kentucky-based Kindred under its direction of senior VP and chief operating officer for behavioral health, Rob Marsh, the company said in a news release.

“Our expansion into behavioral health services is consistent with our mission and is a natural extension of the high-quality services we provide in our long-term acute care hospitals and inpatient rehabilitation facilities,” Kindred COO Jason Zachariah said in the release. “We look forward to applying our expertise and experience to serve more patients with behavioral health issues.”
