Hazelden Betty Ford Expands Virtual Care to Colorado

Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation has announced that it will begin offering virtual addiction treatment and mental healthcare, along with recovery, family and educational services, to Colorado residents through its RecoveryGo telehealth platform.

Colorado is also now the 10th state in which Hazelden Betty Ford is approved to provide insurance-eligible virtual intensive outpatient addiction treatment and mental health services, which combine group therapy and individual counseling sessions through encrypted video chat services.

The not-for-profit organization, which operates 17 facilities across the U.S., began piloting its RecoveryGo platform in 2019, and then accelerated its plans for the virtual service at the outset of the COVID-19 pandemic in March. With the addition of Colorado, Hazelden Betty Ford now offers RecoveryGo virtual care in 10 states, with further expansion planned for Wisconsin and other states.

In a news release announcing the addition of virtual care in Colorado, Hazelden Betty Ford said that it has seen 1- and 3-month outcomes that are in line with those of its in-person care, as well as a reduction in the number of IOP patients discharging against medical advice.
