Community Psychiatry Management Adds Two California Care Organizations

Community Psychiatry Management, an outpatient mental health organization with 40 offices in California, announced that it acquired Calabasas Behavioral Health, effective Aug. 16, and Gelbart and Associates on Aug. 21.

With the two acquisitions, Community Psychiatry adds six outpatient offices in Calabasas, Thousand Oaks, Simi Valley, Torrance, Redondo Beach and Palos Verdes. Eight psychiatrists, 18 therapists and six psychologists join Community Psychiatry’s workforce of more than 100 providers.

Calabasas Behavioral was among the first practices in the nation to use transcranial magnetic stimulation services for treating depression and obsessive-compulsive disorder. Community Psychiatry will now offer TMS treatments for depression and OCD at its Calabasas and Simi Valley locations. The company’s South Bay locations, meanwhile, will provide bariatric support, school-based psychotherapy and employee assistance therapy programs, as well as psychiatric and psychotherapy services.
