Caravel to Add 5 Autism Therapy Centers in Minnesota by June

Caravel Autism Health on Thursday announced that it is moving forward with plans to open five new autism therapy centers in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area by June, with plans to add more facilities by early 2021.

Caravel noted in its news release announcing the openings that a key factor in its decision to expand its presence in Minnesota is that the state has a higher rate of children diagnosed with autism (1 in 44) than the national average (1 in 54), according to data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Caravel had temporarily put its expansion plans on hold to focus on implementing best practices and safety protocols for patients and staff in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Caravel CEO Mike Miller said in a news release.

“Having implemented those enhancements, we can now return to our mission of delivering autism therapy through our new centers for local families,” Miller said in the release. “These new resources will reduce wait times for both diagnosis and treatment by giving families access to specialists who can provide the life-changing therapy their children need.”
