BHG Adds Two Outpatient Programs in Alabama

Outpatient opioid addiction treatment provider Behavioral Health Group is continuing its expansion with the acquisition of two programs in Alabama, Huntsville Recovery and Stevenson Recovery. The deal for the two Alabama properties follow BHG’s recent move into Rhode Island with its purchase of the Center for Treatment & Recovery in Pawtucket.

The two Alabama facilities, which employ a combined 52 clinicians, counselors and staff, will be known as BHG Huntsville Treatment Center and BHG Stevenson Treatment Center. BHG now operates nine treatment facilities in Alabama after first entering the state in 2017. Overall, the BHG portfolio includes 73 programs in 15 states.

BHG uses a combination of medications, behavioral health counseling and other support services for the treatment of opioid use disorder and co-occurring mental health conditions. All of the company’s facilities, including the newly acquired Huntsville and Stevenson locations, accept Medicaid and self-pay, and BHG said in a news release that it is in the process of adding Medicare options to the two new locations.
