Name change for Marworth reflects ties to health system
Waverly, Pa.-based Marworth Treatment Center will now be referred to as Geisinger Marworth Treatment Center, emphasizing its integration with its parent health system. The name change and a new logo also reflect a recent rebranding campaign by Geisinger Health System, which founded Marworth nearly 35 years ago.
A Sept. 6 news release emphasizes Geisinger Marworth's multidisciplinary initiatives to expand the provision of addiction treatment services. These include addiction counseling services at several Geisinger primary care sites, and training of psychologists and pain management specialists in substance use topics.
Geisinger Marworth, located on an estate that served as the longtime home of the Scranton family, offers residential and outpatient treatment and has specialized programs for healthcare and law enforcement professionals.
